Last year was my first Mary Kay Career Conference and my director decided to head down to the one in Galveston, which you can read about here. But because we were all so busy this year, it was a mutual agreement, to just stay and attend the one in Irving, as that is less than an hour away and we could have the option to stay at home or stay at a hotel.
I was planning on just staying at home and driving back and forth, as it is a short conference (a day and a half). Just a few days before, I found out that my director had paid for a hotel and was letting me and three other consultants share the room for free. In the end it was nice, because the first day was at night and day two started really early in the morning. It would have been pretty rough driving back and fourth, that late and early in the day to attend.
This was actually my first time to earn anything, which was a special VIP luncheon and recognition on stage. And as weird as it is, it was totally worth earning the luncheon. It was an amazing first time and there was another lady in our unit that also earned it for the first time, so it was a really fun experience. As my second-in-command director said "we will work for food."
