Favorite Recipies from Magnolia Table

Favorite Recipies from Magnolia Table

As I am sure y'all are aware, at the end of last month, Joanna Gaines released her cookbook, Magnolia Table. It was on my birthday wishlist every since she announced it coming out this spring. Randomly on launch day, my mom and I ran into target and naturally they had a big display right in front, plus they had it on sale (score!!), so my mom asked if I'd like it as an early b-day present. LOL, yess!

Harlowe MXM

Harlowe MXM

It is always a good time for a brunch with your girlfriends. Normally we have some sort of workshop and this time there was suppose to have a lady come and teach poses (you know arm on hip and duck faces are out), but she had to cancel last minute. But honestly, it was so nice to have a low key lunch together. Plus I got to carpool with another blogger from the Fort Worth area, so we got to chat a bunch on the way there and back.

Uses for Essential Oils

Essential Oils can be used in many different ways, but when starting out it can get so confusing how to start implementing them into daily use. It can seem overwhelming learning how to use them in place of other medicines we have, but it is fun to learn alternative options that can help. If you are are brand new to the world of eo's, click here for a general overview of them and here for some information about two of the top companies.

Top 10 Essential Oils

I was really trying to come up with the absolutely necessary top ten essential oils for starting out with, but after tons of research there were several oils that were ALWAYS on the list, but no two lists had the exact same ten on them. And for someone just starting using essential oils it can just get confusing, especially because all of the different starter kits have completely different oils.

Why Introverts Should Blog

Why Introverts Should Blog

I have always been told I was shy. Through different college classes and honestly just life, I have learned that firstly, you should not label people, because the more they are told something (i.e. shy), they more they become that. And secondly, I am not 'shy,' rather an introverted-extrovert, which means I love being around people and socializing, but it drains my energy and I need my own space to recharge and recover from an outing.

Important Habits

Important Habits

Recently, a fellow blogger had a post about 5 Important Habits to Develop in your 20's, and while I definitely enjoyed reading it (especially because I have seen other takes on the same idea), I felt as if she did not quite expand upon several of the points and left out some crucial information. Also, this list does not just apply to women in their 20's, it is for everyone! The idea is the sooner you start implementing these into your daily life, the better.

Checkmate

Checkmate

The whole blogger world is very different; most of the time you meet other bloggers because of their social media or blog and you might start to chat virtually. But it can be a little tricky to actually meet face-to-face with each other and that is one thing that Style Collective helps with. Regional leaders help to plan the events and coordinate the sponsors. To end the month and summer, the DFW area SC sisters had a blogger get-together at Seasons 52.

Summer Favorites

Summer Favorites

Normally on my seasonal favorites I have at least a dozen items, but for what ever reason I was struggling hard core to just come up with this list. This is the first time in about three/four years where I have not had been taking summer classes and it has been super low key. Busy with odd jobs, but quite a bit of down time. Currently, anticipating our first family vacation in years and wanting to sink my toes in the sand.

Perfect Summertime Essential Oils

Perfect Summertime Essential Oils

Why is it that we associate different smells and tastes with the seasons? For the summertime, it is all about long days in the sun, fresh fruits and veggies, the sweet smell of grass, and splashing in cold water. I love to diffuse anything and everything citrus! It just smells fresh and sweet, perfect for the long, hot summer days.

Essential Oils

Essential Oils

Essential Oils have quickly become one of the recent trends, even though they have been around for quite a while. And they is a lot of debate regarding quality and different brands, but when it comes down to it, making sure that you are using essential oils that are of top quality is very important, and currently, dōterra and young living are hand in hand the best brands out there. Many other brands that claim to have good quality oils, in reality contain fillers and synthetic ingredients. And that will not help provide any (or very little) therapeutic benefits.

Melt

A little over three years ago Melt opened their doors on Rosedale St. It was quickly the go-to place for a delicious cold treat. With original flavors and use of fresh local ingredients, there was no wonder what the appeal was. Every month they change out the menu, sometimes brand new flavors or to bring back a local favorite.

Yummy Chocolate Protein Smoothie

Yummy Chocolate Protein Smoothie

For about the past four years I have been on and off struggling to keep a good healthy diet (not for losing weight, but more for being overall healthy). I can totally blame it on college, wether it was 8am classes, stress or being busy and all over the place. Most mornings I would not have breakfast, either I was running late, not hungry, or just completely forgot about breakfast.

Craftwork Coffee Co.

Craftwork Coffee Co.

Have you ever gotten up at five in the morning to unintentionally be the first customer at a brand new coffee shop location? A week ago, I did just that. Craftwork Coffee Co. opened their second location, this one right in the middle of the coolest part of Fort Worth - Magnolia. They have a prime location, right on the corner of S. Henderson and Magnolia. With a fresh, clean feel and hipster vibe, it fits right in. Brand new, but feels like it has been around for a while.

Water, Water Everywhere

Every since I started college, I have made it a point to carry a water bottle around everywhere. It started with receiving one for my HS graduation for that very purpose. And it is funny just how much water one will actually drink when it is available all day, especially during the hour or two duration of a class. Over the years, I have tried and used many different types and brands of bottles and have finally found a few that are my absolute favorites.
