DIY Kimono

DIY Kimono

Ah, I love finding super easy patterns and tutorial and of course sharing them with you! So here's my latest find: the 30-minute Kimono. It's a one size fits all project, which makes it even easier! Although I did end up shortening it by 4 inches, just because I personally felt like it was a bit long length wise, and I am a petite girl so I don't want to make anything super long, thus making me look shorter!

Chic Christmas Tree

Chic Christmas Tree

There are billions of ways to decorate a Christmas tree; it completely depends on the size, decorations, and theme. Growing up, we would always do a very traditional tree with novelty ornaments. Flipping through magazines, such as Southern Living, I was always curious how people would completely overload them with ribbons and picks. I'm going to share some easy DIY ways to decorate a chic Christmas tree, that will be the talk of your holiday party.

Starbucks Latte Costume

Starbucks Latte Costume

Ah it's that time of year for pumpkin spice latte's, jack-o-lanterns, boots and leggings, and of course costumes!!!! ðŸŽƒ But year after year it can be hard to come up with great new ideas; a couple of years ago for Halloween I (kind of last minute), decided to go as a Latte! The reason? I was addicted to iced vanilla lattes! It was a huge hit from the Trunk or Treat at Church to the neighborhood trick or treating. Bonus no one else had a costume like it!

Photo Editing: A Color Story

Photo Editing: A Color Story

// Filter: Airy > Clear 70% //

Many of you know that I'm new at the whole blog thing and one very important aspect of a blog is photos. So I have been exploring different photo editing apps. I figured learning how to edit photos for social media would be the first step. After using several different apps, a brand new one is definitely my favorite: A Color Story App. It has just about everything you'd want in a photo editing app, filters, effects, tools...

Travel Pin Map

Travel Pin Map

After seeing all kinds of maps on Pinterest to mark your travels, I knew I wanted to find one or make one. The ones pictured above were definitely my favorites, but I really liked the idea of pinning the cities. And since at this point in time I have yet to travel outside of the U.S., I really wanted to show the cities I have been to, not just the states.

Rewind 2015

Rewind 2015

2015 has been crazy insane, started off with a minimester and a very spontaneous trip to South Padre. Then full force into one of the hardest semesters ever, that ended in Hawaii - was a tropical paradise and hell on earth all at the sometime, but it was a wonderful experience, non-the-less. Memories and lifetime friendships, the best kind of takeaway from any trip. That and earning college credit all at the same time.

Pattern Testing

Pattern Testing

I think getting to be a pattern tester for indie designers is super cool. So after only about two years of sewing, it was a honor to get to test out four different patterns for two designers. It is a lot of fun trying out the pattern before they release it, however one has to remember that when they except the offer of testing it out, they usually have a deadline and cannot alter the pattern unless absolutely necessary.

DIY Poison Ivy Costume

DIY Poison Ivy Costume

Every year I feel like I do not think about a costume until the last minute... this year and the last was no different. You can see this years costume here. Last year, was one of the first where everyone wanted to be 'on the same page' and we actually collaborated costumes... D.C. to be exact. My inspiration was from Pinterest (like usual ðŸ˜†), but more specifically a Poison Ivy costume, actress Bella Thorne wore.

Sewing Projects

Sewing Projects

In the past year and half I started sewing, got my own machine, learned about indie designers, and got to be a pattern tester a few times. The only issue I had was my fashion taste evolved too quickly for my learning skills to keep up with. Thus leaving me frustrated, when clothes did not fit the right way or not turning out how they looked in my head. But with that being said, I think I was about to make quite a bit, considering I was/am a full time student.

Selfish Sewing Week

Selfish Sewing Week

So last week was officially selfish sewing week, and I missed it. ðŸ˜ž  The reason behind it? School, I was flooded with homework and assignments that week, of course... But I decided that this was to be my Selfish Sewing Week! Luckily this past week I didn't have too much homework, so I was able to dig through the started-projects pile and get some finished!!! Yay!

Picnic Skirt

Picnic Skirt

Oh man where to begin? Sew Caroline has done it again, created another one-of-a-kind pattern. The Picnic Skirt can be dressed up or down, perfect for day or night! Ahh, I love absolutely everything about this skirt, starting with the name, the high waist, zipper, & a subtle high/low hem. The way the skirt flow, & swishes, it's perfect! I have already made three, & I'm not stopping there!  ðŸ˜† This is definitely my favorite skirt pattern!!
