Everyone always talks about how mascara should be replaced rather frequently, but what about all the other stuff in your makeup drawer/bag? How often do we actually replace anything else in there, unless we use it up, break it,  or need a different shade. It is actually really important that we are replacing the main important makeup items, because as soon as they get opened they are exposed to anything and everything that is in the air.

The whole blogger world is very different; most of the time you meet other bloggers because of their social media or blog and you might start to chat virtually. But it can be a little tricky to actually meet face-to-face with each other and that is one thing that Style Collective helps with. Guys, have you seen the new fall collection?  Once again, it is outstanding! Completely on trend, regarding colors and even texture (the limited edition bag is going to match all your fall outfits!). This season is all about berry, plum, & rose! I love all of those, they are a little different than the normal go-to's for fall, such as navy, and olive. But they are still warm and rich in color, plus they make a nice pop of color in your outfits.

Summer is in full swing and down here won't be over for at least two to three more months. And it can be hard to make sure that your skin is protected from the sun, the easiest way is with products you use everyday. Especially because it is even harder to remember to use sunscreen during the winter. Did you know that when it is cloudy out, you actually have a higher chance of getting sunburned? Yep, daily use of sunscreen is a must!

Normally on my seasonal favorites I have at least a dozen items, but for what ever reason I was struggling hard core to just come up with this list. This is the first time in about three/four years where I have not had been taking summer classes and it has been super low key. Busy with odd jobs, but quite a bit of down time. Currently, anticipating our first family vacation in years and wanting to sink my toes in the sand.

For the past several weeks every fashion blogger has been posting like crazy about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I am sure y'all are getting tired of constantly hearing about it. I just wanted to pop on with one post and then let y'all shop the sale in peace. Every year Nordstrom has a month long sale and the first week is considered early access to card holders. Finally decided to do tons and tons of swatches of the Mary Kay lipsticks, glosses, etc. Originally, I was going to try them on, but my lips started getting raw after putting some, then taking it off, and then repeat dozens upon dozens of times. So I opted for swatches on paper, plus I figured y'all would have a better chance seeing the true color and finish this way.

I meet Shelby about five years ago at a random photo shoot with a mutual friend and we on and off hung out with said friend for a few years. Then in 2014 I contacted her about doing a sibling shoot, which was amazing! Check out her work for our sibling photos: here & here. Late in February, I contacted her about a couple of different shoots that I really wanted to do this year and this was the first one.

Last year was my first Mary Kay Career Conference and my director decided to head down to the one in Galveston, which you can read about here. But because we were all so busy this year, it was a mutual agreement, to just stay and attend the one in Irving, as that is less than an hour away and we could have the option to stay at home or stay at a hotel.

Year after year, the ultimate image of spring is pale shades of purples, blues, and pinks. But this year it has gotten reinvented, with bolder hues and brighter shades, by mimicking those colors found in a beautiful sunrise or sunset. While kind of daunting wearing such bright colors of purple, blue, pink, and orange, each can be absolutely stunning.

Down here in Fort Worth, TX we may or may not get any super cold weather; it might last a weekend or maybe a week, other years we actually get a really winter including ice and snow. So regardless of your type of winter, here is the perfect ice makeup.
