It is always a good time for a brunch with your girlfriends. Normally we have some sort of workshop and this time there was suppose to have a lady come and teach poses (you know arm on hip and duck faces are out), but she had to cancel last minute. But honestly, it was so nice to have a low key lunch together. Plus I got to carpool with another blogger from the Fort Worth area, so we got to chat a bunch on the way there and back.

Why Introverts Should Blog

Last Saturday, StyleCon for the first time was in Dallas! Years past they have only had one even in Orange County, CA. Why Dallas? Who knows, but it definitely does make it more accessible to everyone in the entire DFW area (which is the size of Connecticut) Overall? I enjoyed it and getting to meet up with other bloggers and meet vendors, but there were some huge disappointments about it.
For the past several years I have heard a ton about FabFitFun, but have never really looked into it. Finally last month, I purchased the 2017 Summer Box and I'm hooked and excited to announce that I am officially a #fabfitfunpartner! That's right, so do not forget to scroll down to the bottom for $10 discount code!
Last month we headed down to Port Aransas for a short vacation before we all had to start school again. And we had a blast at the beach. Unfortunately, my family has this thing with planning our family vacations around bad weather. We found out that Hurricane Harvey was suppose to hit the same morning, we were planning on leaving.
After seeing everything that is happening in South Texas (and y'all it is NOT all Houston! Dozens and dozens of towns were COMPLETELY destroyed!), it is breaking my proud texan heart. But seeing the way literally EVERYONE come together to raise money and/or volunteer makes me soooo happy to call Texas my home and to be a part of this community. I normally do not stay up past 1:30am writing blog posts, but I half cry everytime I see videos and photos of South Texas that I wanted to round up all of the places you can donate or purchase to donate. (Not going to lie, I'm one of those people who no matter the tragedy, I can't make myself donate a ton of money, but I will if it means shopping. You can judge all you want, but that does not make me a bad person; I am only human).
Year after year, Mary Kay goes over the top for their consultants and directors and it is so hard to describe the experience. Yet, after attending three seminars in a row, I can tell you that ever year is bigger and better. It is even more fun when you start earning prizes!! This year I got to attend the party at Gilley's and the Go-Give Reception.
Last month, our local Target had a grand re-opening. They has spent the past couple of months remodeling the store (which was annoying trying to find everything), and the results are amazing! The party was definitely Texas worthy. I brought my youngest brother to the party and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, the first thing we saw was a helicopter.
After much deliberation, E & I decided we should split up our big round trip into two shorter one. So after we went through Yellowstone, Idaho, and Grand Teton, we headed back to our hub (the M's house). In the day and a half at their house, quite a bit went down. The evening before we left for Glacier National Park, we had a bonfire outside and well one thing led to another....
After the whole getting stuck in mud and my car breaking down situation was fixed, we headed out again the next morning, (a little less enthusiastic) toward Yellowstone National Park. It was only about an hour drive to the East Entrance and then we drove for probably another hour toward the first loop (the park consists of about two "loop" drives around the park.)
Wyoming oh Wyoming after powering through for about 20 hours driving, and almost hitting a deer, we made it to Cody, which is in the far northwestern corner of the state. The night after we got there it snowed, so the entire ground and mountains were covered. So plans changed from heading to yellowstone, to planning a trip to Thermopolis for the next day.
Have you heard of the Beignet Bus?? No? Well you have now and it is for sure something to look out for and find on your next trip to Fort Worth. You have to keep up with their Facebook page to find out where and when they will be. Hahaha my mom and I were trying to go after Church for about a month, but they kept taking Sunday's off, finally about a month ago, we were able to head off to Trailhead and find it!
Have you ever gotten up at five in the morning to unintentionally be the first customer at a brand new coffee shop location? A week ago, I did just that. Craftwork Coffee Co. opened their second location, this one right in the middle of the coolest part of Fort Worth - Magnolia. They have a prime location, right on the corner of S. Henderson and Magnolia. With a fresh, clean feel and hipster vibe, it fits right in. Brand new, but feels like it has been around for a while.
