Five day! What an adventure - five days and nine cities. Milan, Turin, Naples, Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri, Amalfi, Postitano, & San Angelo. Crazy? Maybe. Fun? You bet!
First stop was Milan! And J was right I loved that city so much! Even the train station looked like something out of a novel. And the architecture of the duomo? 😍 😍 😍 Stunning, to say the least.
Ok let me back up, after V and I got to train station the first thing was to check into our Airb&b, which was suppose to be super close to the station...and it was, it just took up over and hour and a half to find it.... So there went that for the night.
Luckily, the few places I wanted to go visit were both in the same square. So the next day we left our bags at the station and took the metro. We ended up finding a cute little cafe on the edge of the square, so we had breakfast, saw the duomo and the galleria, then went back for lunch, before heading to train station.
Getting to Turin that afternoon, we apparently had just missed a big storm (Northern Italy is rainy!).
Trying to save some time, we got an overnight train down to Naples, and while it saved us a lot of time in the way of travel and sightseeing, it was not worth it. We hardy got any sleep, because the chairs were not comfy and our cabinmates were rather loud (with a radio) and one of them would get off at every stop to smoke.... so there was a nasty smell to deal with too.

We only stopped in Naples long enough to find the Duomo for Sunday Mass. I think both of us were glad to be in one place for the several day, instead of having to pack up and deal with luggage in every city.
Pompeii was crazy cool! After studying Roman History for the past month, it was amazing to see how a Roman Town was set up. We had visited the Ostia Antica Ruin, which is an ancient harbor city of Rome, but key word is ruins. Pompeii is the place to go, to really get a good visual of how everything is laid out.
Personally, Capri was super over rated, I would have much rather spent more time on the Amalfi Coast.
