Emerald Isle - Part One

I cannot believe it has already been three weeks since arriving in the beautifully green island of Ireland. Like always, it is such a whirlwind and it seems short, but super long all at the same time and coming home back into the daily routine, time goes by so quickly. But we got to see and do so much; it was a whirlwind of fun, but I am always grateful to be back home in Texas.

We left on Friday, March 10 and landed in Dublin, Ireland on the 11th around 5:30am. And started cross country - talk about a long day. But we managed, thankfully to several short stops along the way.

First was the Hill of Tara and I was super glad I was wearing my Duck boots on the airplane, because it was super muddy and at the second stop the wet grass ended up washing them off. I felt bad for some of the other students, who were wearing nice sneakers or flip-flops.

Right around the time we arrived at Clonmacnoise, the sun started to poke through and that was the start of the amazing weather we encountered all week.

After stopping in a cute little town for lunch, we continued westward toward Galway, we arrived there early afternoon. So there was plenty of time to explore and I was able to attend the evening Mass at St. Nicholas' Collegiate College.

The next day we headed down to the Cliffs of Moher (pronounced Moor) and they were amazing, but sooooo windy. There were a few areas where it was a struggle to walk around.  Lunch was at a pub in Doolin. Then we had our first business visit at Kenny's Bookstore.

I think majority ruled that Galway was our absolute favorite town we stayed at. Some call it the Austin of Ireland.
