After starting random blogs for the past five-ish years, I finally decided to get over myself and start sharing it. With that decision, came the one about leaving it a plain-Jane blog or actually get it professionally set. So I started out researching templates and realized that quite a few people spend way too much money on web designs. But I finally came across one that was extremely fairly priced and had quite a few options.
Georgia Lou Studios, I love all their themes and the fact that it is a small business. Growing up living off of people who decide to purchase from small business verse corporate, I adore supporting locally owned, especially for things like this!
They only have them for Blogger or Wordpress blogs. But they have lots of different styles and ways to customize them. For blogger prices range from $12-$30, and set up fees of either $35 or $75, depends on what you want them to fix. Wordpress is more expensive ranging from $35-$49 for templates and $50, $150, or $250 for the set up.
After leaning toward this company for months, I finally purchases a template, Marissa, and tried to install it myself. That's when I realized my computer skills are really lacking and I really had no idea what I was doing, so I opted for them to finish setting it up for me (extra fee of course, but worth it!).
They were very friendly and helpful. And most importantly, fast. From the point of purchase to satisfaction, took 72 hours. I actually purchased the template over a month ago, and after fiddling with it and not being able to figure all of it out, I purchased the basic setup package. And it was quick and easy. She finished the install and then I filled out a form for any adjustments and actually because of the time I sent it, she started working on it really quickly and an hour later, I got an email with the updates done.
Point of the story is, you do not have to break your bank to get a nice updated website.
In the middle of all of this, I contacted one of my favorite photographers in the DFW area and set up a branding shoot for the beginning of April. And it was such a fun experience and I cannot wait to share the photos in my next couple of posts, so be on the look out for it next week! But for now, here is a little sneak peak!!
