AMS's Spring/Summer '18 Launch

Dallas Market Center hosted designer Alexander Michael Snyder for his Spring/Summer 2018 collection earlier this month. If anyone is a Project Runway fan, than you should be familiar with this designer. No, he wasn't the winner, but was a top contender for the season, and was out, because of his sacrifice for his team. And for everyone's information, because it was a Mary Kay sponsored episode, where the winner would get $5,000 toward the start of their business, well because of he really shouldn't have lost, Mary Kay also gave him $5,000 too. (FYI, that is the exact amount Mary Kay Ash had to start her business up.)

I would imagine Project Runway is either a make it or break it advertizing for the start up designers - even if you don't win, you could easily become the next big thing. It is really exciting to see people who didn't make it to the top five actually being able to create collections and show them off on the runway.

Okay first things first, I want to shout out to Heather for getting me and a few other blogger friends into the VIP section, it was so much fun getting front row seats, goodie bags, drinks, and appetizers. IT was AMAZING!

Okay so there are multiple trends for the spring to be aware of, including

Power Trip - think business wear, pinstripes and blazers
Utility - military inspired bomber, and utility style
Ath-Luxury - not your mother's sweat suits
Femme - Florals - light and airy fabric

Designer Michael Snyder was inspired by what Frida Kahlo wore. And their slogan is "An American Line Actually Made in America." I absolutely love that. It is pretty hard to find clothing lines that are made state side. According to the booklet they acquired a 40 year old manufacturer in San Francisco.

"I Paint Flowers So They Will Not Die"

Um just look at those sequins!!! Ahh my favorite!

XOXO,
Suzanne Marie
