After never going anywhere for spring break, I finally did. Of course it was the one year, that I technically didn't have a full spring break, I had two half spring breaks. TSU followed all of the other Universities and took the second week of March off and TCC, decided to follow the FWISD schedule and took the third week of March off.
Regardless of the messiness of it all, my best friend, Eva, and I got to take a four day weekend down south toward Austin. Hahahaha, except we kind of went all over the place. First, we were planning around rain for all day Thursday and Friday down south. Guess what happened... yep, it didn't rain, except Friday night, it was pouring all night. Oh and instead of storming down south, Thursday around four in the morning it decided to hail and thunder here in Fort Worth. Luckily, we left about 15-30 minutes before the golfball sized hail came.
Anyway, enough about the weather (for now ;D). First, we headed southeast toward Ennis, & Palmer, for bluebonnets. Now the peak season for this far north, really isn't until the first couple of weeks in April (obviously every year is a little different.) However, there were still quite a few beautiful patches.
From there we headed down to Waco, where we stopped for lunch at Dave's Burger Barn, it was delish! And then Dichotomy Coffee & Spirits for some yummy Italian coffee. Love this little coffee shop, they are designed off of the coffee shops in Italy.
Then we jumped around again, to Enchanted Rock, which is just a little bit north of Fredericksburg. This place is so fun, it's a huge blob of pink granite, that they let you climb up and around. Lots of trails to pick from, the popular one, is obviously the one that goes straight up the main rock.
Finally, we made it to San Marcos, where we grab some dinner and when to bed!
XOXO,
Suzanne Marie
