Out & About Dess

I officially (last week) finished my very first homemade dress!!! I bought Sew Caroline's  The Out And About Dress pattern about two weeks ago and almost immediately started working on one (the cornflower blue maxi, fabric from Jo-Ann Fabric).

It was not only the first time working on a print-out pattern, but also my first time working with knits; so I am pleased to say it ended up sooo much better than expected. (Although I still had some different issues, some were my fault, while others were the machines... But that's another story.) Then yesterday I started the Black Polka Dot one (fabric from Girl Charlee), & it was even easier!! Especially after I got my very first sewing machine, which I am totally psyched about!! And it is working out much better than my mom's old one (who coincidentally doesn't seem to have any problems with it, I on the other hand have always had major issues with it!) [picture of the machine & what happens to me here] So down below are pictures of my creations: enjoy!! (Photo Credit: My Mom! Thanks!)

// Dress: Out & About Dress by Sew Caroline // Fabric: Cornflower Blue Knit from Joann Fabrics // Scarf: Old Navy // Belt: Old Navy // Shoes: Women's Converse from Target //

// Dress: Out & About Dress by Sew Caroline // Fabric: Girl Charlee // Tights: Target // Boots: Charming Charlie // Necklace: Unknown // Bracelet: Unknown // Glasses: LensCrafters //

Yesterday I started & finished my third O&A dress. The reason I made them so quickly, well for starters they are just that easy to make!

XOXO,
Suzanne Marie
